In computer and video games, an item is an expression for the various objects and rewards collected by the game's characters for points or to improve their characteristics or status in the game.
-Treasure such as coins, gems or jewelry. These are often used to determine the player's score or exchanged for other, better items.
-Medicine, food or energy containers, which give the player extra health or defensive ability.
-Several games have quest items (also known as plot items, or key items) required to complete the game.
