The semi-civilized Black Kingdoms of most common knowledge among people of the Hyborian Age is Kush. The proud nation of Kush is seldom raided, since the Stygians usually prefer capturing the weaker Darfar or Keshan tribesmen as slaves. Kush lies on the coast of the Western Ocean just south of Stygia. Hyborian merchants and explorers encounter Kush as they sailed south past Stygia. The capital of Kush is Meroe, which was founded near a lush savanna in the middle of the kingdom.
