Beginning Letter to the King I[]

Letter to the King I is the same for all classes -- the only difference is the trainer each class must speak to in order to begin the quest. To receive this quest, a character must first have completed, The Awakening I. There are four possible NPCs for starting this quest:

I. The Stygian Refugee[]

Objectives[]

Journal Entry[]

My trainer has asked me to speak with Si-Khu. I need to ask the Stygian boy about his recent past and find out exactly what brought him to Tortage.

Note[]

Si-Khu is located inside the Thirsty Dog Inn, right next to the door.

Reward[]

  • 700 xp

II. The Plague from the Past[]

Objectives[]

  • Talk to Arias outside the city

Journal Entry[]

Si-Khu told me a twisted tale of his father's corruption, and gave me a scroll covered in strange runes. I should show this to Arias as soon as possible, to see if it is of use to the Aquilonian spy. He can be found at his camp outside the city, by following the road past the Mitra temple.

Reward[]

  • 700 xp

III. Without Mercy[]

Objectives[]

  • Talk to the slavemaster Shenti-Aku

Journal Entry[]

Arias read the scroll and discovered mention of a medallion that can somehow repel the power of the Mark of Acheron. He believes Mithrelle, as Thoth-Amon's minion, may know something of the medallion, but he first needs me to investigate the sorceress's slave camp on the volcano. I must confront one of the slave masters there to find the truth of the matter. xD

Note[]

Shenti-Aku is up the volcano. Note there are two ways to climb the volcano -- one involving stone steps, and the other by climbing up a fallen bridge (near the area where characters enter the zone). It's easy to think you're where Shenti-Aku should be, but actually be far too low on the volcano.

Reward[]

  • 700 xp

IV. The Truth Revealed[]

Objectives[]

  • Talk to Arias

Journal Entry[]

The slave master told me the truth of Thoth-Amon's plan. Mithrelle is here raising an army of Marked slaves for the Stygian arch-sorcerer to use in his wars on the mainland. I must tell Arias immediately!

Reward[]

  • 700 xp

V. A Letter to the King[]

Objectives[]

  • Give the Letter to Captain Redrik

Journal Entry[]

Arias has written a letter to the king that must reach Conan as soon as possible. I need to ask Captain Redrik to take it to Aquilonia immediately!

Reward[]

Completion[]

My trainer asked me to speak with Si-Khu in order to find out what happened to the boy in Stygia. He told me of how his father discovered a mysterious scroll, but was changed by some kind of sorcery so that he lost all semblance of the man he once was. Si-Khu escaped Thoth-Amon's slaughter of the village, and gave me the scroll.

I gave the scroll to Arias, who found a mention of a medallion that can somehow repel the power of the Mark of Acheron. While he looks deeper into such lore, he wanted me to investigate Mithrelle's slave camp and confront one of the slavemasters there.

The slavemaster revealed that he served as an overseer to Thoth-Amon's slave army. When I told Arias of this, he wrote a letter to King Conan of Aquilonia informing the monarch of what we had learned. The letter was sent with Captain Redrik.
