I. A Priest's Concern[]

Adeonus is concerned by the rumors of demons attacking people around Tesso. After consulting the church archives he has discovered disturbing similarities between the attacks today and events that occurred over fifty years ago. The archives also refer to a man called Maxus the Demon Hunter, though the only Maxus in town is actually a drunk. Adeonus has asked me to speak to Maxus and see if he knows anything about this.
II. A Drunk's Duty[]

Maxus the drunk has revealed that his family have been responsible for holding a demon imprisoned in a tree outside of Tesso for generations. Every fifty years they must complete a ritual to keep the demon trapped, but Maxus claims that he lacks the courage to perform his duty. He has asked me to bring him a Dark Beast heart and then he will show me how to complete the ritual.
III. Dark Heart[]

I have killed a Dark Beast and cut the dripping heart from its chest. I should return with the heart to Maxus, who waits at the tavern in Tesso.
IV. Divine Intervention[]

Maxus has carved a bizarre symbol into the surface of the Dark Beast heart. He then told me the steps involved in completing the ritual. The first step is to take the heart to Adeonus for a blessing.
V. Completing the Ritual[]

- Summon and Kill the Demon in the Tree

Adeonus has blessed the inscribed heart of the Dark Beast and I have everything needed to complete the ritual. I should do as Maxus instructed and place the heart on the altar beside the tree, just outside of town.

VI. A Demon Banished[]

- Return to Adeonus
Journal Entry[]
After completing the ritual by the tree, a huge demon emerged, howling and summoning waves of hellish minions. I defeated the demon and cast it back into the tree, locking it away for another fifty years. I should report my success to Adeonus.
